Range Rover Evoque Price in Kenya (2026): The Most Affordable Range Rover in Nairobi, Mombasa and Across Kenya

Everything about Evoque prices in Kenya: the new-shape L551, diesel vs petrol, trims, running costs, rivals and how to import an Evoque with one fixed KES price.

Range Rover Evoque price in Kenya: Range Rover Evoque imported by Elisa Motors

The Range Rover Evoque price in Kenya starts at about KES 5.5M and tops out near KES 7M for a compliant P250 R-Dynamic. That makes the Evoque the most affordable way to own a Range Rover. As a result, it is popular with young professionals in Kilimani, couples in Syokimau and families in Kiambu.

However, "affordable" is relative. An Evoque still costs more to run than a Japanese crossover. Therefore, this guide covers both the purchase price and the real ownership costs. Furthermore, it explains which Evoque to buy and how Elisa Motors imports one with a fixed price in Kenya shillings.

Old shape vs new shape Evoque

First-generation Evoque (L538)

The original Evoque ran from 2011 to 2018. It made the compact luxury SUV fashionable. However, every L538 is now outside the 8-year import window in 2026. You will only find them locally, often with high mileage.

Second-generation Evoque (L551, 2019 onwards)

The new-shape Evoque arrived in 2019. It looks similar but is completely new underneath. It has a stiffer body, a roomier cabin, mild-hybrid engines and the ClearSight rear-view mirror camera. Moreover, it is quieter and more refined.

Every Evoque you can import in 2026 is an L551. That is good news, because it is a much better car than the first generation.

Evoque engines and trims

Evoque D180 / D200 diesel

The D180 SE lands at about KES 5.5M – 6.5M. Its 2.0 diesel returns roughly 15–17 km/L on the highway. Consequently, it is ideal for buyers who commute from Thika, Machakos or Kitengela.

Evoque P250 petrol

The P250 R-Dynamic costs about KES 6M – 7M. It is smooth, quick and well suited to Nairobi stop-start traffic. In addition, it avoids diesel particulate filter issues on short trips.

Evoque P300e plug-in hybrid

The P300e plug-in hybrid can drive short distances on electricity alone. It suits buyers with home charging. However, it is rarer in export stock, so allow extra time to source one.

Trims

Evoque trims run from base, S and SE to HSE, with R-Dynamic styling packs and First Edition launch cars. Similarly, later models use the Pivi Pro infotainment with twin touchscreens.

Is the Evoque the cheapest Range Rover in Kenya?

Yes. It is cheaper than the Velar, which starts near KES 6.5M. It is far cheaper than a Range Rover Sport. Therefore, it is the entry point to the brand.

For more space at a similar price, consider the Discovery Sport. It shares the platform but offers seven seats. Read our Discovery price guide for details.

Range Rover Evoque specifications by version

Here is how each Range Rover Evoque version we import compares. All of them seat 5, and you can import them from UK or Japan.

Range Rover Evoque P250 R-Dynamic. This version uses a 2.0-litre petrol engine with 249 hp, a 9-speed automatic gearbox and AWD. Moreover, it returns about 12 km/L and lands in Kenya at roughly KES 6M – 7M.

Every Range Rover Evoque we import includes these key features: compact luxury SUV, AWD, clearSight mirror, touch Pro Duo and stylish design.

Our services: Range Rover Evoque imports across Kenya

We handle every step of your Evoque import. Here is what Elisa Motors does for buyers in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret and beyond.

1. Evoque sourcing from the UK

The UK has a large supply of new-shape Evoques. Many are approved-used cars with warranties and full service histories. We shortlist cars by engine, trim, colour and budget.

MOT records and service books confirm the mileage. See our UK import page for more.

2. Low-mileage Evoques from Japan

Japanese Evoques are often low-mileage and very clean. Auction sheets describe the condition in detail. In addition, Japanese owners tend to service at dealers.

We translate auction sheets and convert infotainment to English where needed. See our Japan import page.

3. All-inclusive landed price

Our quote includes the car, freight, insurance, KRA taxes, port charges, clearing and registration. In other words, there are no surprise costs at the port.

We can compare diesel and petrol versions, or an Evoque against a rival. For instance, we can price an Evoque D180 next to a BMW X3.

4. Inspection and history checks

We check the engine, gearbox, electronics, cameras and underbody. Moreover, we run history checks for outstanding finance and write-offs.

Every car then passes the KEBS-appointed inspection. You see photos and video before we buy.

5. Shipping and Mombasa clearing

We ship to Mombasa by RoRo or container. Then our clearing team handles KRA, KPA and verification at Kilindini Harbour. Subsequently, we register the car with NTSA.

See our Mombasa clearing guide for details.

6. Delivery across Kenya

We deliver to Nairobi areas including Kilimani, Westlands, Lavington, South B, South C, Syokimau, Karen and Runda. We also deliver to Kiambu, Ruiru, Thika and Machakos.

Upcountry, we serve Nakuru, Eldoret, Kisumu, Kericho, Nyeri, Nanyuki, Meru and Embu. On the coast, we deliver to Mombasa, Nyali, Kilifi and Diani.

7. Finance and insurance support

We supply the documents your bank needs for asset finance. In addition, we connect you with insurers and tracking providers.

See our car finance and insurance guide.

Comparing an Evoque and a Discovery Sport? We can quote both side by side. Use the order form, call +254 725 310 112 or WhatsApp +254 725 310 112.

Evoque running costs in Kenya

Fuel

The D180 diesel is the most economical. The P250 petrol returns roughly 10–12 km/L in mixed driving. Therefore, choose the diesel for highway use and the petrol for town.

Servicing and parts

Plan for a service every 15,000 km or once a year at a Land Rover specialist. Parts are available in Nairobi, though some must be ordered. A well-kept L551 is far more reliable than the old shape.

Keep an eye on the mild-hybrid battery and infotainment software updates. In addition, use quality fuel to protect the turbocharged engines. Read our Range Rover maintenance guide for full detail.

Insurance

Insurance follows the car's value, so the Evoque costs less to insure than larger Range Rovers. Most insurers still require an approved tracker.

Evoque vs German rivals

The BMW X3 is roomier and drives well. The Mercedes GLC is comfortable and refined. Meanwhile, the Audi Q3 is a cheaper compact alternative.

The Evoque wins on style and badge appeal. However, the Germans often win on space and running costs. Compare them all on our SUV page.

Is the Evoque good for Kenyan roads?

For tarmac and decent murram, yes. It has all-wheel drive and reasonable ground clearance. However, it is a compact luxury SUV, not a 4x4 workhorse. For rough upcountry roads, a Defender or Prado is better.

Choose 18- or 19-inch wheels rather than 20-inch ones. Taller tyres absorb potholes better and cost less to replace.

Locally used vs fresh import Evoque

Many local Evoques are old-shape 2012–2018 cars. They are cheap, but they cannot be imported today and often have high mileage. Some have also had gearbox or electrical issues.

A fresh new-shape import gives you a better car, verified mileage and a known registration date. Moreover, you choose the colour and spec.

Best Evoque colours and options

Fuji White with a black roof is the classic Evoque look. Grey and blue are also popular in Nairobi. Meanwhile, black looks sharp but shows dust.

Useful options include the panoramic roof, 360-degree cameras, the ClearSight mirror and keyless entry. In addition, privacy glass keeps the cabin cooler.

Who should buy an Evoque?

The Evoque suits buyers who want a premium badge in a manageable size. For example, a young professional commuting from Kileleshwa to Upper Hill will love its compact footprint in traffic. Similarly, it parks easily at Sarit Centre, Junction Mall or Two Rivers.

It also suits couples and small families. The rear seats fit two adults or three children, and the boot takes a weekly shop plus a stroller. However, it is not a seven-seater. Larger families should look at the Discovery Sport or a Prado instead.

Finally, it suits buyers moving up from a Japanese crossover such as a Harrier or CX-5. The Evoque feels more special inside. Still, expect higher servicing costs, so budget for them from the start.

Evoque prices by year

A 2019 Evoque sits at the bottom of the importable price range. It already has the new L551 body. A 2020 or 2021 car costs a little more and often has more equipment. Meanwhile, 2022 and newer cars with Pivi Pro infotainment cost the most.

The price gap between years is smaller than on bigger Range Rovers. Therefore, a newer Evoque is often worth the extra money. It will also be importable for longer, which helps resale value later.

Planning to buy next year? The 8-year window moves each January. In 2027, 2019 cars drop out. As a result, 2019 Evoques are at their cheapest now, but they also have the shortest remaining import window.

Evoque buying checklist

First, confirm the first registration date is 2019 or later. Second, check the service history and match it with the mileage. Third, test every screen, camera and the ClearSight mirror. Electronic faults are easier to spot before purchase than after.

Next, check the tyres and brakes, especially on cars with 20-inch wheels. Then drive the car on a rough road and listen for suspension knocks. Finally, compare the total cost with a fresh import quote. We run this checklist on every Evoque we import.

Evoque ownership: the first year

After delivery, plan a full service with fresh oil and filters. Imported cars may have sat for weeks before shipping. In addition, fit a tracker for your insurance and ask a specialist about outstanding software updates.

Consider ceramic coating or paint protection film if the car will park outdoors. Kenyan sun is strong, and dust is abrasive. Meanwhile, a good set of floor mats protects the carpets during the rainy season.

Evoque for first-time luxury buyers

Many Evoque buyers are moving up from a Toyota, Mazda or Honda. That step brings new habits. First, servicing should happen at a specialist that knows Land Rover systems, not a general roadside garage. Second, use the oil grade the manufacturer specifies. Cheaper oil can harm modern turbo engines.

Third, budget for parts. A set of Evoque brake pads or a tyre costs more than the Japanese equivalent. However, the gap is smaller than many people expect, especially on a young, low-mileage car. In fact, a fresh import with a clean history often needs little more than routine servicing in its first two years.

Finally, learn the car's systems. The Evoque has Terrain Response, hill descent control and many driver aids. Read the handbook, or ask us for a quick walkthrough at handover. As a result, you will get far more from the car on murram roads and rainy days.

Evoque prices in Nairobi vs Mombasa

A direct import costs the same wherever you live. KRA duty, clearing and registration do not change by county. Only delivery from Mombasa varies, and that is a small share of the total.

Showroom prices are different. Yards in Nairobi and Mombasa add stocking costs and margin, so a local Evoque often costs more than a fresh import of the same year. Consequently, buyers in Eldoret, Kisumu and Nakuru, where local stock is thin, often save the most by importing.

Evoque resale value

A new-shape Evoque holds its value well in Kenya, especially in white, grey or blue. Diesel versions attract strong demand from buyers outside Nairobi, who value fuel range. Meanwhile, petrol cars sell well in the city. In both cases, a full service file and verified import documents add real money when you sell. Therefore, keep every receipt from your first service onwards.

Finally, think about timing. Prices at UK dealers often soften after the March and September plate changes, when part-exchange stock floods in. Consequently, ordering around those months can widen your choice of colours and specs.

We track these cycles for you and alert you on WhatsApp when a good match appears, so you never miss the right car at the right price.
